Box Score LISLE, Ill. – The Illinois Wesleyan baseball team managed just one hit in the first five innings and scored only two ninth inning runs in losing at Benedictine University, 6-2, Thursday (April 17) night in Lisle, Ill.

With the nonconference loss, the Titans drop to 16-10 overall, while the Eagles improve to 13-11.

Jonathan Vlk (2-1), the first of five IWU pitchers, was tagged with the loss as he allowed three earned runs on seven hits in 3 1/3 innings. Benedictine's Ty Anderson (2-1) went seven scoreless innings and earned the pitching victory.

The Eagles put up a run in the first, three more in the fourh and two in the sixth to lead 6-0 before the Titans were able to score two in the ninth.

Jake Capko scored on a balk, advancing
Matthew Mardis to third. Mardis then crossed the plate when
Jack Troike flied out to right field, concluding the game 6-2.
