Baseball Improves to 3-0 With Win vs. Beavers

JACKSON, Miss. - Junior Robert Romano tossed 5 2/3 innings of one-run ball as the Illinois Wesleyan baseball team downed Blackburn by a 9-2 score to complete a three-game weekend sweep in Jackson, Miss. on Sunday, March 9.

Romano struck out six and allowed only four hits in picking up the win while freshman Nick Huskisson earned the save by pitching the final 2 1/3 innings, allowing one run on four hits.

Freshman catcher Pat Mollo had two hits and four RBI with a key bases-loaded double in the eighth inning that drove home all three runners put the game out of reach, giving the Titans a 7-2 lead.

Junior first baseman Nick Hahn had two hits with a home run and senior Bobby Czarnowski had two hits and a run batted in.

What's Next?
The 3-0 Titans travel to Clinton, Miss., to face Mississippi College at 6 p.m. on Monday, March 10. The Choctaws are 4-8 so far this season.
