Titan Baseball Loses 8-0 Game to Concordia Chicago

TERRE HAUTE, Ind. - Illinois Wesleyan senior starter Jeff Johnson struck out eight hitters in five innings but the Titans had their losing streak extended to five games in an 8-0 setback to Concordia Chicago at the Rose-Hulman Tournament in Terre Haute, Ind., on Saturday, March 15.

Illinois Wesleyan is now 3-5 overall and has a 19-inning scoreless streak while Concordia Chicago improved to 8-2.

Six IWU players accounted for the team's hit total with doubles coming from senior designated hitter Jon Frericks and sophomore rightfielder Jack Troike.

Johnson allowed two runs on four hits with a walk and the eight Ks in his outing but the Cougars put up six runs, four earned, off IWU reliever Matt Hart in the sixth inning to put the game out of reach.

What's Next?
Illinois Wesleyan's scheduled game on Sunday against Alma has been cancelled so IWU's next action will be against Washington U. on Saturday, March 22 at 11 a.m. in Sauget, Ill.
