Box Score

BLOOMINGTON, Ill. – Illinois Wesleyan's 107-61 victory over the North Park men's basketball team Wednesday, Feb. 19, at the Shirk Center gave the Titans a share of their second-straight College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin championship.

It is IWU's 29th overall league title, and a win over Wheaton on Saturday would be the Titan's 23rd outright men's hoops championship.

A win over Wheaton would also mean that Illinois Wesleyan would serve as host for the CCIW postseason tournament on Feb. 28-March 1 for the second straight season. Since the men's tourney began in 2006, it has been at Augustana three times (2006, 2007, 2008), at North Central twice (2011, 2012), and at IWU (2013), Wheaton (2009) and Carthage (2010) once.

Jordan Nelson led the Titans with 19 point, as IWU forced 18 turnovers and outrebounded the Vikings 41-25.

The Titans tied the school record for three pointers, completing 19, previously set against Millikin on Feb. 20, 1993. IWU also scored the most points on the season against the Vikings.

IWU controlled a majority of the game, jumping out to an early lead and holding it going into halftime, 52-21, shooting 64.3 percent from the field. The second half read similarly with the Titans outscoring the Vikings 55-40 for the win.
