Box Score WHEATON, Ill. - The Illinois Wesleyan women's soccer team was held scoreless, falling to No. 5 Wheaton 1-0 in the College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin title match at Joe Bean Stadium on Saturday, Nov. 8.
With the loss, the Titans fall to 14-6-1 overall while the Thunder improve 18-1-2 and clinch the conference's automatic berth into the NCAA Division III soccer tournament.Â
IWU, playing in the conference tourney championship game for the eigth time since 2002, met a familiar foe in Wheaton, who has faced them in seven of the eight championship matches.
The Thunder were able to find the back of the net in the 11th minute of the game (10:08), and proceed to hold IWU to only seven shots for the game for the 1-0 victory. The Titans were outshot by the Thunder 19-7 for the match, including facing a 10-3 shot on goal defecit. Sophomore keeper
