Box Score 2 BLOOMINGTON, Ill. - The Illinois Wesleyan volleyball team reached the 20-win plateau with a pair of victories on Saturday, Nov. 1, in the Barker Chevrolet Classic III at the Shirk Center.
The Titans, 20-11 overall, defeated Concordia Wisconsin in four sets (26-24, 23-25, 25-20, 25-17) and downed Wisconsin Lutheran in three sets (25-14, 25-16, 25-20). Illinois Wesleyan has 20 wins for the first time since the 2007 team was 20-17.
Senior
Maddie Greybar and sophomore
Emily Knowles were selected to the all-tournament team.
In the win over Concordia (23-6), freshman
Kyleigh Block led the Titans with 23 kills while also having 12 digs, two aces and three blocks. Greybar had 12 kills and 11 defensive digs and Knowles had five kills and four blocks.
Sophomore
Colleen Rynne had 31 assists and freshman
Nicole Bing had 17 assists while junior
Mary Rankin paced IWU with 18 digs.
Block also led IWU in the sweep of Wisconsin Lutheran (2-23) with 12 kills and had seven digs. Senior
Kinzie Schweigert added eight kills with three blocks with Greybar and freshman
Maisy Bowden contributing six kills each. Bowden had two service aces and three blocks and Greybar had nine digs.
Bing had 20 assists with Rynne accounting for 11 and Rankin had 12 digs with four assists.
What's Next?The Titans close out their College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin regular season with a match at North Central on Wednesday, Nov. 5, at 7 p.m.
