ROCK ISLAND, Ill. - No. 24-ranked Illinois Wesleyan women's soccer team opened up the 2014 CCIW campaign with a 2-0 win at Augustana on Saturday, Oct. 4. The visting Titans improve to 8-2-0 and 1-0-0 in the CCIW while the host Vikings lost for only the third time this season.

After a scoreless first half, IWU broke through for a goal in the 48th minute (47:14) by Jenna Baker assisted by Brie Siebert. The Titans then sealed the game when senior Julie Govedarica scored her third goal of the year with a header in the 81st minute (80:15).

Defensively for the Titans, goalkeeper Dana Jourdan recorded her third shutout of the year, as the sophomore from Glen Ellyn, Ill. did not face any shots on goal by the Vikings.
