Box Score Bloomington, Ill. - The Illinois Wesleyan volleyball team picked up their third straight College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin win by defeating No. 12 Elmhurst 3-1 (25-22, 25-21,23-25,25-21) at the Shirk Center on Wednesday, October 22.
With the win, the Titans improve to 14-10 overall and 3-2 in the CCIW while the visiting Blue Jays (25-6, 2-3 CCIW) lost for only the sixth time this season.
Freshman
Kyleigh Block led all players with 17 kills on 53 total attacks for a .226 attack average on the night while
Kinzie Schweigert and
Anne Cummings each added 11 kills. Block also had two service aces to lead the Titans while junior
Mary Rankin had 28 defensive digs.
Freshman
Nicole Bing had 29 set assists and 10 defensive digs with
Colleen Rynne adding in 24 set assists. IWU outhit Elmhurst .215-.142 on the night, forcing the Blue Jays into 22 attack errors.
What's Next? Illinois Wesleyan will host the IWU triangular on Friday, Oct. 24 at the Shirk Center. The Titans will start the triangular against Lincoln Christian University at 3:30 p.m. before playing Concordia University Chicago at 7:30 p.m.
