BLOOMINGTON, Ill. - The Illinois Wesleyan volleyball team lost a three-set decision to No. 23 Carthage, 9-23, 23-25, 18-25, at the Shirk Center on Wednesday, Oct. 1. Freshman Anne Cummings led the Titans with seven kills.

The Titans slipped to 7-9 overall and 0-2 in the College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin while the Lady Reds improved to 17-1 overall with their 13th straight win and are 1-0 in the league.

Senior Maddie Greybar and freshman Maisy Bowden each accounted for six kills and Bowden had two blocks. Senior Kinzie Schweigert added five kills with a block.

Sophomore Colleen Rynne provided 14 assists and sophomore Lizzy Hawk had 12. Junior Mary Rankin had 11 defensive digs while freshman Kyleigh Block had nine and Greybar had six.

The Titans will face Illinois Institute of Technology at 12 p.m. ET and Rose-Hulman at 2 p.m. ET in Terre Haute, Ind., on Saturday, Oct. 4 at the Rose-Hulman Triangular.
