BLOOMINGTON, Ill. - The Illinois Wesleyan men's swimming team lost a dual meet to Wabash by a 138-64 score on Friday (Jan. 24) at IWU's Fort Natatorium.
Senior
Marcus Duval was the winner of the 400 yard individual medley with a Fort Natatorium record time of 4:09.63. The old pool mark was 4:10.82.
Senior
Ross Tollefson took first in the 100 breaststroke with his effort of 1:02.47 and freshman Alexander Guess won the 1-meter diving competition with a score of 371.35.
Freshman
Sam Kim got two second place finishes (50 freestyle, 23.20 and 100 freestyle, 50.36) and Duval also got a second in the 100 backstroke (55.86).
Other IWU second place finishes came from freshman
Andrew Younger (1000 freestyle, 10:46.69) and senior
Kevin Skrabacz in the 200 freestyle (1:54.60).
Tollefson also got third in the 100 free (51.30) and Skrabacz, Younger, Kim and Duval teamed to get second in the 200 free relay with a time of 1:32.26.
During an IWU women's swimming exhibition Friday night, sophomore Kirsten Slaughter also set a pool record in the 50 freestyle with a time of 24.48 seconds, besting the old mark of 24.56.
What's Next?
The Titan men and women return to the pool at 11 a.m. next Saturday (Feb. 1) against Wheaton and North Central in a triangular at Wheaton, Ill.
