BLOOMINGTON, Ill. – The No. 4 ranked Illinois Wesleyan men's basketball team outscored North Central by 14 in the second half to post a 72-57 win over the Cardinals at the Shirk Center on Wednesday (Jan. 22).
Illinois Wesleyan improved to 15-2 overall and 5-1 in College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin play while the Cardinals lost for the fourth time in five games and are now 9-8 overall and 2-4 in the CCIW.
The Titans and Cardinals had four ties and five lead changes in the first half that saw IWU hold a 28-27 lead at intermission. The Cardinals led for the last time at 41-39 with 12:31 to play in the game and the game was tied at 43-43 before the Titans went on an 11-3 tear to claim a 54-46 lead with 6:42 left.
IWU outrebounded North Central 20-17 and forced the Cardinals into 15 turnovers while committing 10.

IWU plays at Carthage at 7 p.m. on Saturday (Jan. 25) and will return home to host Millikin next Wednesday (Jan. 29). The Red Men are 4-2 in the CCIW after a 73-70 loss at Elmhurst on Wednesday.
