DECATUR, Ill. – The No. 4-ranked Illinois Wesleyan men's basketball team utilized its inside-out game and tight defense to push past Millikin, 75-57, Wednesday (Jan. 15) evening at the Griswold Center. The victory also puts the Titans tied for first in the College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin.

IWU sports a 13-2 overall record and is 3-1 in the league, while the Big Blue is 7-8, 1-4. IWU is in a four-way tie for first in the CCIW with Augustana, Wheaton and Carthage, all of whom are 3-1.

"Hats off to Millikin, they gave a lot of energy early on," IWU head coach
Ron Rose said in the postgame interview on WJBC. "But man, we've got some competitive guys, and this is a great win. For us to walk away with an 18-point win is a really great thing for our group…and tonight, I think this was our best defensive effort of the year."

The Titans controlled the score at halftime with an eight-point lead, 35-27, which propelled them in the second half to against outscore the Big Blue, 40-30, for an 18-point win.
