Men's Soccer Takes 1-0 Win Against Central

BLOOMINGTON, Ill. - Sophomore Mitch Billimack  scored in the 44th minute and strong defense helped Illinois Wesleyan hang on to a 1-0 men's soccer win over Central (Iowa) on Sunday, Sept. 8, at Neis Field.

The Titans improved to 2-1-1 while the Dutch slipped to 2-2-0.

Billimack scored at 43:18 on a shot from in front of the net after assists from junior Colin Rathe and junior Jared Casey.

Senior keeper Andrew Reed made four saves for IWU, who outshot Central 18-9 and led the Dutch in corner kicks, 5-2.

Illinois Wesleyan plays its first road game of 2013, meeting Monmouth at 5 p.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 11.
