BLOOMINGTON, Ill. - The Illinois Wesleyan volleyball team improved to 4-1 this season with a three-set win over Eureka at the Barker Classic I on Friday (Sept. 6) at the Shirk Center.

Now winners of three straight matches, the Titans beat Eureka, 25-9, 25-19, 25-13.

In set one, IWU went on a 12-1 run to go from a 5-3 lead to a 17-4 edge and cruised the rest of the set. In the third set, the score was tied at 4-4 before the Titans went on a 7-1 run and commanded a 12-5 lead.

"We had a great crowd tonight for our home opener and it's always nice to start it with a win," said IWU head coach Kim Nelson-Brown. "This match gave us the opportunity to work on several different lineups.  Since it's early in the season, we are still looking for the right combination of players out on the floor."

What's Next?
In play on Saturday, IWU will host Illinois College at 10 a.m. and Bluffton at 12 p.m. Following that match there will be an alumni game featuring Illinois Wesleyan standouts from the past.
