LISLE, Ill. - The Illinois Wesleyan volleyball team took Benedictine to five sets in a nonconference road loss in Lisle, Ill., on Wednesday, Sept. 25.
Illinois Wesleyan lost by scores of 23-25, 25-21, 14-25, 25-18, 15-17. In the final set, IWU trailed 9-5 before rallying to tie the score at 10-10.
The Titans slipped to 9-7 while the Eagles won for the second straight night and improved to 7-8. It was the first five-set match of the season for Benedictine.
"Benedictine did a nice job of taking us out of our system tonight," said IWU head coach
Kim Nelson-Brown. "We were a step behind the whole evening and very up and down in our consistency."
