BLOOMINGTON, Ill. - Freshman
Alison Seger scored three goals and had an assist as the Illinois Wesleyan women's soccer team improved to 2-0-0 with a 6-0 win over Milwaukee School of Engineering on Sunday, Sept. 1 at IWU's Neis Field.
The brilliant performance overshadowed a two-goal game from fellow freshman
Skyler Tomko, who got IWU on the board at the 18:43 mark on an assist from Seger for the game's only first half goal.
Seger scored the next three IWU goals on assists from
Hannah Ketterling,
Brie Siebert and
Amanda Kaiser.
Alex Partipilo scored to make it 5-0 at 75:39 on a penalty kick and Tomko capped the scoring at 79:01 on a free kick assist from
Jenna Baker.
Illinois Wesleyan outshot the Raiders, 19-2, and starting keeper
Zoie Samaan and
Dana Jourdan each made one save in the combined shutout.
IWU plays next on Saturday (Sept. 7) against University of Redlands and on Sunday against the Banana Slugs of Cal-Santa Cruz in Santa Cruz, Calif.
