CHICAGO, Ill. - Six players had two hits or more as Illinois Wesleyan had 18 hits en route to an 11-8 win over North Park in Chicago on Friday (May 3).

The Titans improved to 28-8 overall and 17-2 in the College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin while the Vikings are 19-18 this season and 11-8 in league play.

♦ Wesleyan scored three in the fourth and two in the fifth, got single runs in the seventh and eighth and put up four runs in the top of the ninth on an inside-the-park grand slam home run from sophomore Tim Coonan.

♦ Junior Jon Frericks led the offensive charge with four hits while senior Zach Scott had three, including a solo home run in the eighth inning. The Titans got two-hit games from Coonan, seniors Kevin Callahan and A.J. Nathan and junior Johnathan Erickson.

♦ Sophomore John Munyon (7-2) got the pitching win in relief of starter as he went the final three innings, surrendering seven hits and three runs with one strikeout. Matt Hart was the starter, going six innings and allowing nine hits and four earned runs while striking out four and walking one.

weather permitting, the Titans and Vikings will play two seven-inning doubleheaders in Chicago beginning at 12 p.m. on Saturday (May 4).
