ROCKFORD, Ill. - Senior Zach Scott had four hits with two doubles and junior Bobby Czarnowski had five runs batted in as the Illinois Wesleyan baseball team clubbed Rockford, 12-2, in a game shortened to seven innings on Wednesday (May 1) in Rockford.

♦ The No. Illinois Wesleyan improved to 27-8 overall while the Regents are 17-19. The Titans are ranked No. 18 nationally in the April 30 Division III rankings done by the American Baseball Coaches Association and are No. 20 (up from No. 24) in the weekly D3baseball.com poll.

♦ Wesleyan, who banged out 17 hits, got off to a great start with five runs in the first, then added three in the third and four more in the fourth. In addition to Scott's four-hit game, sophomore Nick Hahn had three hits and junior Johnathan Erickson had a pair of doubles and two RBI.

♦ Robert Romano (1-0) was the winning pitcher, working five innings and striking out four while allowing two runs on four hits.

What's Next?
Illinois Wesleyan, already assured of the league title and hosting the CCIW tourney May 9-11, will play a three-game set at North Park in Chicago this weekend. The Titans and Vikings meet at 1 p.m. Friday in a single game and play a doubleheader beginning at noon Saturday.
