No. 22 Titans Fall at Home to Knox, 7-3

BLOOMINGTON, Ill. - The No. 22-ranked Illinois Wesleyan baseball Titans banged out 12 hits but could manage only three runs in falling to nonconference foe Knox, 7-3, at Horenberger Field on Tuesday (April 9).

The Titans slip to 17-5 overall and Knox improved to 10-5.

IWU scored single runs in the third, sixth and seventh innings.

In the third with two outs, junior Jon Frericks singled and senior Kevin Callahan singled to get runners on first and second. Senior A.J. Nathan reached on an error that allowed Frericks to score.

In the sixth, third baseman Nick Hahn doubled and went to third on a groundout. Senior Anthony Lopez grounded out to second to score Hahn.

IWU's final run came when Hahn delivered a single to score Frericks, who had reached on an infield single.

Matt Conrad took the pitching loss and is 0-1.

IWU is scheduled to play a single College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin game against Millikin in Decatur at 4 p.m. on Wednesday (April 10).
