BLOOMINGTON, Ill. - Senior Kevin Callahan tied a school record as he ripped three doubles and Illinois Wesleyan overcame a five-run deficit to post a 7-6 win over Augustana on Sunday (April 21) at Horenberger Field and take a two-game lead in the College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin standings.

The No. 16-ranked Titans improved to 23-7 overall and 13-2 in the CCIW while the Vikings are 23-6 overall and 10-4 in league play.

♦ The Titans trailed 5-0 after allowing four unearned runs in the second and a run on two hits in the third. IWU scored two in the third as A.J. An error on the second baseman allowed Nathan to score and, with one out, Callahan reached on an error on the leftfielder that enabled Workman to score.

♦ With one out in the fifth, Callahan doubled and Johnathan Erickson doubles to chase him home to get IWU within two at 6-4. The Titans got it to 6-5 in the seventh as Callahan  led off with a double, went to third on a one-out single by Jon Frericks and came in on Nathan's sacrifice fly to centerfield.

♦ Wesleyan scored the tying and go-ahead runs in the eighth. With one out, senior Zach Scott got to second base on a flyball misplayed by the Augustana leftfielder and went to third on a groundout. With two outs, Callahan hit his third double to bring in Scott and Erickson again followed with a two-base hit that scored Callahan.
