BLOOMINGTON, Ill. - In a game that only lasted an hour and 48 minutes, the Illinois Wesleyan baseball team finished their season sweep of Elmhurst with a 2-0 win at Jack Horenberger Field on Sunday (April 14).
The TItans improve to 21-5 overall and 12-0 in the College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin while the Bluejays fall to 12-11 overall and 4-6 in the CCIW.
♦ An RBI single by senior
Zach Scott (3-3, 1 RBI) gave the Titans a 1-0 lead in the bottom of the third. Senior shortstop
Matt Workman gave senior starting pitcher
Nick Mehn an insurance run in the bottom of the fifth with a single up the middle to score junior designated hitter
Johnathan Erickson.
♦ The lefthanded Mehn threw a complete game, four-hit shutout to improve to 3-1 on the year and lower his season earned run average to 0.77. Elmhurst's Brian Marquis falls to 1-3 with the loss.
♦ After allowing the bases to be loaded in the top of the second, the Titan defense did not allow a Bluejay to advance to third base for the rest of the game.

Weather permitting, Illinois Wesleyan goes on the road for mid-week nonconference games, playing at Monmouth at 3 p.m. Tuesday (April 16) and at Benedictine at 6 p.m. on Wednesday (April 17).
