ST. LOUIS, Mo. - Illinois Wesleyan junior
Jeff Johnson struck out eight and allowed six hits in a 4-0 shutout of No. 10-ranked Wisconsin-Whitewater and the Titans also downed Fontbonne 16-6 for a sweep on Saturday (March 16) in St. Louis, Mo.
Johnson is now 1-0 this season and the Titans improved to 6-2 with the wins. The Warhawks fell to 3-2 with the loss while the Griffins fell to 3-5 with the seven-inning loss.
Illinois Wesleyan scored all four runs in the fourth inning on consecutive singles by junior

Johnathan Erickson each had two hits to lead the IWU offense.
Against Fontbonne, sophomore
John Munyon (2-0) was the winning pitcher, allowing eight hits and three runs in five innings of work, walking one and striking out four.

Dan Truesdale pitched two innings and allowed three hits and two runs with one strikeout.
In the Fontbonne game, Lopez had three hits and two runs batted in while sophomore
Nick Hahn also had three hits and provided three RBI.
Coonan, Czarnowski, Hahn and Workman all had doubles for Illinois Wesleyan.

IWU's scheduled game at Fontbonne on Sunday has been cancelled due to a forecast of an 80 percent chance of rain or snow and a high temperature of 38 degrees.
