Colleen McMahon with 25 each, as the Illinois Wesleyan women's basketball team toppled Calvin, 103-81, at the Shirk Center on Thursday (Dec. 19).
The score was tied twice and the lead changed four times early before IWU took the lead 8-7 on a basket by senior
Shelby Jackson with 16:45 left in the first half and never trailed again. IWU built up a 55-37 lead at halftime and led by as many as 26 with 17:40 to play in the game.
The Titans were guilty of 20 turnovers while the Knights committed 25 and IWU scored 30 points off Calvin turnovers. Calvin had 49 bench points compared to 16 for IWU.
Wesleyan handled the Knights on the boards with a 47-34 edge as freshman
Gabrielle Holness grabbed a career-best nine caroms.
