DUBUQUE, Iowa - The No. 2-ranked Illinois Wesleyan men's basketball team let a double digit, second half lead slip away and lost for the first time in 2013-14 by an 80-75 score at Loras in Dubuque, Iowa, on Saturday, Nov. 23.
The Titans are 3-1 this season while Loras is 2-2 with both wins coming over College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin schools - the Duhawks topped Wheaton earlier this week.
"We had a chance to put them away and didn't," said IWU head coach
Ron Rose in a postgame interview with WJBC's Eric Stock. The Titans led 44-35 at the half and held a 15-point lead midway through the second half before Loras went on a 31-11 run in the second half to storm back to claim a 75-70 lead with 3:35 to play.
"We were tentative on both sides of the floor and didn't finish. (Loras) had the momentum going, they were aggressive and played good defense," said Rose.
