NAPERVILLE, Ill. – In the Illinois Wesleyan men's soccer team's final regular season match, the Titans fell just short of North Central, 3-2, with goals coming from
Declan Geraghty and
Colin Rathe at Bendetti-Wehrli Stadium Saturday (Nov. 2) afternoon.

IWU concludes with an overall record of 9-8-2 and a mark of 3-4 in the College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin while the win gives North Central a record of 7-8-3 overall and 2-5 in the CCIW.

The Cardinals opened the match strong, scoring all three of their goals in the first period. North Central's Jake Muszczynaki scored, unassisted, with 9:30 on the clock to put his team ahead, 1-0.

In the 14th minute, Joey Faleni connected with the back of the net, assisted by Michael Lenzi to bump the Cardinals ahead, 2-0. Just before halftime, Lucas Habeeb scored the third goal for North Central with 42:46 on the clock.

The Titans finally saw offensive action in the goal when Geraghty scored with 53:22 on the clock, drawing the score to 3-1.

In the 83rd minute, Rathe knocked in the final goal of the game, assisted by senior
Angelo Catalano, to get the Titans within one goal at 3-2.
