IWU Men's Soccer Falls to CCIW Foe Elmhurst, 2-0

BLOOMINGTON, Ill. – Despite having more overall shots than Elmhurst, the Illinois Wesleyan men's soccer team were defeated by the Bluejays, 2-0, Friday (Oct. 4) night at Neis Field.
 
The Titans fall to 7-4-1 and are 1-1 in the College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin, while Elmhurst stands at 7-2-1.
 
The Bluejays' Jordan Fletcher knocked back a goal in the 15th minute, assisted by Jeff Kading, heading the ball after a free kick to put the score at 1-0.
 
Elmhurst struck again, this time in the second half, when Andrew Witzofsky hit the top corner of the box for a close out score of 2-0 with 54:22 on the clock.
 
IWU's Andrew Reed (6-4-1) suffered the loss, tallying four saves in his 90 minutes of play. Elmhurst goalkeeper John Reglin (6-2-1) had five saves.
 
The Titans will return to the field Wednesday (Oct. 9) when they host the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater at 7:30 p.m.
