IWU Men's Soccer Earns Seniors' Day Victory

BLOOMINGTON, Ill. – In the final regular season game at Neis Field, the Illinois Wesleyan men's soccer team concluded victoriously over Carthage, 1-0, to help the Titans' six seniors celebrate their Senior Day Saturday (Oct. 26).
 
IWU poses a 9-7-2 record after Andrew Reed, Matt LaLonde, Angelo Catalano, Declan Geraghty, Adam Flaugher, and Chase Salazar received senior honors in their final home victory. The Redmen are 12-5-1.
 
The match went scoreless in the first period, and in the second a goal finally went on the board in the 62nd minute. Geraghty passed the ball to Eric Gilbert, who successfully shot from the top of the box to score the only goal of the game.
 
Titan goalkeeper Reed had two saves during his 90-minutes in the box, while Carthage's Nick Huftalin also saved two balls.
 
IWU will face one regular season opponent, North Central, before the College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin Tournament. The Titans will travel to Naperville, Ill., Saturday (Nov. 2) to play at 2:30 p.m.
