BLOOMINGTON, Ill. – In the first College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin game, the Illinois Wesleyan men's soccer team defeated Millikin, 1-0, at Neis Field Wednesday (Oct. 2) evening.
 
The Titan victory draws their record to 7-3-1 and a perfect 1-0 in the CCIW, while the Big Blue drop to 2-7-1.
 
In a defensive heavy game, both teams combined for 13 shots to 16 fouls, while the goalkeepers only had one save.
 
IWU senior Chase Salazar scored the lone goal of the game, volleying the ball to the back of the net, assisted by Declan Geraghty, with 39:22 on the clock.
 
Titan goalie Andrew Reed spent the entire 90-minutes of play in the backfield, but had no saves. Millikin's Daniel Sinclair had one save in the goal.
 
IWU will return to the field Friday (Oct. 4) against league foe Elmhurst at home in Bloomington, Ill., at 7 p.m.
