No. 25 IWU Soccer Shuts Out DePauw, 2-0

BLOOMINGTON, Ill. – After concluding two-straight matches in ties, the Illinois Wesleyan women's soccer team was able to pull off a victory, shutting out DePauw, 2-0, on Wednesday (Oct. 16) at Neis Field under the lights.
 
The Titans, who are ranked No. 25 in two national Division III polls this week, improve to 9-1-4 on the season, while the Tigers drop to 8-6-0.
 
IWU scored in both periods, getting off at total of 12 shots at goal while holding DePauw scoreless in its one shot at goal.
 
In the 19th minute, freshman Alison Seger chipped the ball over the Tigers' goalkeeper, Emma Cooper, assisted by senior Tillie Bill.
 
After the half, freshman Amanda Kaiser scored the second goal for the Titans, getting a deflected shot into the net with 59:32 on the clock.
 
IWU's Zoie Samaan had one save in her 90 minutes inside the goal, while Cooper had 10 total saves.
 
The Titans will return to College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin competition against No. 1 nationally-ranked Wheaton on Saturday (Oct. 19) at 4:30 p.m. in Wheaton, Ill.
