ELMHURST, Ill. - The Illinois Wesleyan men's basketball team is 16-3 overall and 8-0 in the College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin after a 71-52 win against Elmhurst on Saturday (Jan. 26) at R.A. Faganel Hall in Elmhurst.

♦  It marks the first time for Illinois Wesleyan to be 8-0 in the league since the 1995-96 team won its first nine games in conference action. Elmhurst falls to 4-15 overall and 0-8 in the CCIW.

♦  Illinois Wesleyan had a 39-37 rebound edge as senior Kevin Reed speared a career-high 16 boards, topping his old mark of 12 against Wheaton (Jan. 4, 2012). The Titans were guilty of 17 turnovers compared to 12 for Elmhurst, but IWU converted turnovers into 15 points to only 9 for Elmhurst.

♦  The Titans took advatnage of poor shooting by the Bluejays, who managed just 26 percent from the field and 15 percent from 3-point range.

♦  IWU led by as many as 10 in the first half (on two occasions) and took a 33-24 lead into the locker room at the half. To start the second half, IWU outscored the Jays 20-5 to claim an insurmountable 53-29 lead with 11:57 to go. Elmhurst managed to scissor the lead to 15 at 60-45 with 5:15 remaining but could get no nearer.
