CHICAGO, Ill. – Three Titan men's basketball players reached double-digits to assist Illinois Wesleyan in a 27-point victory over North Park, 86-59, Wednesday (Jan. 16) night.
No. 18-ranked IWU extends its record to 13-3 and 5-0 in the College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin with its fifth straight win, while the Vikings drop to 6-10 and 1-2 in league play.
♦ Right from tipoff, the Titans controlled the game, as North Park was never able to steal the lead.
♦ In the first half, IWU went 57.7 percent from the field, 57.1 percent from three-point land, and 66.7 percent from the charity stripe to put 42 points on the board at halftime to the Vikings' 27.
♦ Early in the second, North Park was able to cut its deficit to nine points, 48-39, after Ryan Hyrn hit a jumper with 16:05 on the clock. However, that was as close as the Titans allowed the Vikings to get, as they extended their lead over the final 15 minutes.
♦ IWU gained its largest lead of the match up when freshman
Bryce Dolan knocked down a three pointer to bring the Titans' lead to 31 points, 83-55, with less than two minutes left.
♦ IWU concluded the game 30-for-59 from the field, 27.8 percent from behind the arc, and 21-for-26 from the free throw line.
