GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – In the Illinois Wesleyan women's soccer team's first road game of the 2012 season, the Titans were outplayed by Calvin College, 2-1, at Grand Rapids Christian High School's Eagle Stadium Friday evening (Sept.7).
In front of a crowd of 175, the Knights (1-1-0) were the first to get on the scoreboard with a goal from Francesca Smith, assisted by Taylor TenHarmsel and Sydney Kinney with 16:34 on the clock.
It was not until the second half that another ball went into the goal, Calvin again scoring with a chip shot over the goalie by TenHarmsel. The assist was granted to Liz Cancel.

Hannah Ketterling assisted IWU's only goal.

Amanda Macuiba clocked 90 minutes in the goal, with no saves. Calvin's Ashton Hearn equaled Macuiba's playtime, totaling five saves.
Friday's game was the first time since the women's soccer program began in 1994 that the Titans began the season 0-2.
IWU will return to the field tomorrow against Hope College in Holland, Mich., at 5 p.m. ET.
