Tim Griffin scored a goal in the 81st minute to give Illinois Wesleyan a 2-1 win over North Central in College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin play at Neis Field on Saturday (Sept. 29). The Titans are 8-1 overall and 1-0 in the CCIW.
The goal was Griffin's seond of the game and came on an assist from senior
Frank Marchiori at 80:48.
The Cardinals (7-3-0, 0-1-0 CCIW) took the lead at 31:06 on a goal by Jeff Jones, his first of the year, on a free kick deflected off the goal wall.
Griffin tied the match at 1-1 at 41:50 when he scored on a header with assists going to senior

Andrew Reed made two saves in goal for IWU and Kyle DeRaedt made three for the Cardinals. The Titans had a 13-7 edge in shots and a 5-3 edge in shots on goal. A total of 28 fouls, 14 for each squad, were called in the contest.
