DECATUR, Ill. - The Illinois Wesleyan volleyball team split its games at the 10th annual Millikin/Linda Slagell Tournament, defeating Concordia (Wis.), but falling to Wisconsin Lutheran in Decatur, Ill..
The Titans defeated Concordia (Wis.) in three sets by scores of 25-21, 28-26, 25-20.
Three IWU players tallied double-digit kills against Concordia. Sophomore
Morgan Howard and senior
Alex Hill each had 12 kills, while sophomore
Maddie Greybar earned 10.
Hill was chosen to the all-tournament team.
Junior setter
Erin Wachtel led the Titans on defense with 12 digs. Greybar had 10 defensive digs.
The Titans fell to Wisconsin Lutheran, 3-2, in their second game of the day in five sets by scores of 19-25, 25-22, 20-25, 25-21, 7-15.
Greybar (10) and Howard (9) led IWU in kills, while Watchel led on defense with 19 digs.

Kim Nelson-Brown believed Friday's games were a learning experience.
"We took small steps tonight toward the level of play we want to be at," she said. "We just need to improve defensively and how to push through during critical times."
The Linda Slagell Volleyball Tournament recognizes Coach Slagell, a breast cancer survivor, for all of her contributions to Millikin and its volleyball program. In addition to honoring Coach Slagell, this year's tournament will be joining in the battle against breast cancer.
Illinois Wesleyan returns to action at the Shirk Center on Wednesday (Sept. 26) with a 7 p.m. College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin match against No. 21-nationally ranked Carthage.
