Titan Volleyball Loses in Four Sets at Augustana

ROCK ISLAND, Ill. - The Illinois Wesleyan volleyball team won the first set against Augustana, but lost the next three, falling to the Vikings, 3-1, in College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin action on Tuesday (Sept. 19) in Rock Island, Ill.

The Titans claimed set one, 26-24, before losing the next three by scores of 25-27, 20-25, 18-25.

Illinois Wesleyan is now 7-8 overall and 0-2 in the CCIW, while the Vikings won their sixth in a row and improved to 10-2 overall and 2-0 in the conference.

"Tonight was absolutely disappointing to watch," said IWU head coach Kim Nelson-Brown. "We played flat and were extremely inconsistent. In set three, we had 16 errors. We have a day to regroup and get refocused for the weekend."

IWU's Morgan Howard led the Titans with nine kills, while Alex Hill had eight. Howard finished with 10.5 points and Hill finished with 9.5.

IWU plays next on Friday at the Millikin/Linda Slagell Tournament at the Griswold Center in Decatur against Concordia (Wis.) (3-11) at 5:30 p.m. and Wisconsin Lutheran (5-8) at 7:30 p.m.
