CHICAGO, Ill. - In a back and forth battle, the Illinois Wesleyan women's soccer team fell to the University of Chicago, 2-1, on the Maroons' home turf Wednesday (September 12) in front of a crowd of 141 people.

Emily Hinchman scored the first goal of the game with 20:46 on the clock after stealing the ball on knocking it in.
Chicago's (3-2-0) Madeleine Horvath followed with a response goal with 44:02 on the scoreboard to bring the score to an even 1-1 at halftime.
It was not until near the end of the game, with 86:40 on the clock, that a team was able to emerge with another goal. Brigette Kragie assisted Sara Kwan with the give and go to put UC ahead of the Titans, 2-1, and insure an IWU loss.

Amanda Macuiba played all 90 minutes in the box, tallying seven saves. Although Hinchman was the lone IWU player to score a goal, there were 11 attempts from seven different players, compared to UCW's 17 attempts at goal.
IWU will take on Principia Saturday (September 15) in Elsah, Ill., for its next game.
