NAPERVILLE, Ill. - In a four-set battle, the Illinois Wesleyan volleyball team fell 3-1 to College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin foe North Central at Gregory Arena Tuesday evening (September 11).

The Titans (5-5) narrowly won the first set, 25-23, but exchanged for a loss the second set with the Cardinals (9-1) winning, 25-23. IWU fell again in the third set, 25-23, before experiencing a third loss in the fourth set, 25-21.

"We are playing point for point with teams, but the little miscues back to back are killing our tempo and pace," IWU volleyball head coach Kim Nelson-Brown said. "We need to maintain our level of consistency."

IWU's Morgan Howard led the team in kills with 12, while Maddie Greybar tallied 11. Stephanie Polich finished atop IWU with 29 defensive digs. Alex Hill had two of the team's five blocks.

North Central's Amanda Hilmer and Kedryn Orrison each had 12 kills for the Cardinals, while the team notched 49 total kills.

NCC's victory over IWU marks the fifth straight for the Cardinals.

The Titans will be back on the volleyball court Friday (September 14) for the Carthage College Tournament, which is a two-day event.
