CAROL STREAM, Ill. - It took 11 innings and a change of venue, but the Illinois Wesleyan baseball team got a 7-4 win over Elmhurst on Sunday (May 6) to claim the No. 2 seed in the College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin tournament.

IWU (26-13, 12-9 CCIW) will play Elmhurst (22-18, 11-10 CCIW) again on Thursday with the time to be determined at No. 1 seed and tourney host North Park.
The top-seed and regular season champion Vikings (28-11, 13-7 CCIW) will play No. 4-seed Augustana (25-15, 11-10 CCIW) in the first round.

Due to wet conditions the game was moved to Wheaton's artificially-turfed Lee Pfund Stadium in Carol Stream, Ill.

Illinois Wesleyan scored three runs in the 11th as sophomore centerfielder Jon Frericks led off with a single to center field and went to second on a sacrifice bunt by junior shortstop Zach Scott. Senior leftfielder Mark McDermott, who had four hits and tied a school record with four runs scored, singled through the left to bring in Frericks.
Junior catcher A.J. Nathan singled through the right side and, with two outs, sophomore Bobby Czarnowski tripled to left center to score two more runs.

Matt Hart (2-1) picked up the pitching win in relief of starter Chirs Bobo and freshman John Munyon, while freshman Robert Romano pitched a hitless 11th to earn the save. Munyon turned in 6 1/3 innings in relief and allowed only two runs (one earned) on five hits with a walk and two strikeouts.
