MOLINE, Ill. - The Illinois Wesleyan men's tennis team downed North Central 5-1 to claim fifth place in the 2012 College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin men's tennis championships.
The Titans' dual match record ended at 7-10. IWU lost their first round match on Friday to Augustana by a 5-3 score.
Against North Central, senior
Brian Piotrowski defeated Eric McKee, 6-2, 7-6 (7-5) at No. 1 singles while sophomore
Brian Sorich was a winner at No. 2 singles over Will Exner, 7-6 (7-6), 6-2.
IWU's
Nick Kenaga downes Adam Ciccone, 6-2, 6-0 at No. 3 singles and at No. 4 singles
Aaron Guenther beat Boris Kampel, 7-6 (7-4), 6-4. At No. 6 singles
Steven Hayman was a winner against Mason Sass, 6-2, 6-4.
With the five singles wins there was no need to complete the doubles round to determine the team winner.
