BLOOMINGTON, Ill. - Junior infielder Kevin Callahan had three hits with a home run and sophomore designated hitter Johnathan Erickson also had three hits as the Illinois Wesleyan baseball team got a 13-3 win over Monmouth at Horenberger Field on Wednesday (May 2).

The Titans, who banged out 16 hits in the win, improved to 24-12 overall and the Scots fell to 10-22.

Freshman Robert Romano (2-0), the first of four IWU hurlers, got the win as he went four innings and allowed one earned run on six hits with a strikeout.

Callahan's home run gives him 27 for his career, tied for fifth with George Stiglish (1997-98) and Aaron Koehlhoeffer (1995-98) in IWU records. The school record is 36 by Bob Williams (1980-83).

Illinois Wesleyan hosts Elmhurst (21-16 overall, 10-8) College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin) in a CCIW doubleheader at Horenberger Field at 1 p.m. Saturday (May 5). The Titans are also 10-8 in the league along with Augustana and Wheaton, one game behind North Park (11-7).
