CHICAGO, Ill. - The Illinois Wesleyan baseball team rebounded from an 11-4 loss to North Park to get a 4-1 win over Elmhurst on Friday (May 11) and stay alive in the College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin tournament. The Titans will square off with North Park again on Saturday.
The Titans are 28-14 after the games Friday and would need to defeat the Vikings twice on Saturday to earn the league's automatic bid into the NCAA Division III tournament.
IWU banged out 11 hits in the first game loss and led 4-2 before North Park scored four in the fifth, tacked on three in the seventh and two more in the eighth against four Titan hurlers.

Zach Scott each had two hits for the Titans with McDermott and designated hitter

IWU had 13 hits in the second game, the fifth time in the last six games the Titans and Bluejays have met. McDermott, junior catcher

Bobby Czarnowski each collected two hits and it was Czarnowski's home run in the eighth after Callahan had reached on a single that provided the winning runs.
Freshman righthander
John Munyon earned his first collegiate win, going 4 1/3 innings in relief of freshman starter
Chris Bobo. Munyon allowed three hits and struck out two while walking none.
