BLOOMINGTON, Ill. - Illinois Wesleyan scored one run in the eighth and two runs in the ninth to rally for a 10-9 nonconference win over Benedictine at Horenberger Field on Wednesday (April 18).
IWU improved to 19-9 while the Eagles are 14-13.
The Titans had 14 hits and allowed 20 in the 3 1/2 hour contest that featured a total of 12 pitchers and 38 players.

Josh Levy provided the game-winning single down the leftfield line to bring home two runs.

Freshman
Derek Idstein pinch ran for Callahan and advanced to second when sophomore first baseman
Bobby Czarnowski sacrificed the runners.
Sophomore centerfielder Jonathan Frericks walked to load the bases and Levy was called on to pinch hit for
Anthony Lopez, delivering the hit that scored Nathan and Idstein.
Nathan, Callahan, Frericks, Czarnowski and Lopez all had two hits for IWU with Callahan delivering a homer, his third in the last two games, and a double.
Pat Hayn (1-0) was the Titans' seventh hurler of the night and got the win for IWU as he pitched a scoreless ninth, allowing one hit and striking out two.
Illinois Wesleyan hosts College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin leader North Park at 7 p.m. Friday (April 20) to open a three-game home series. The teams will play a doubleheader at Horenberger Field on Saturday at noon.
