Titan Baseball 14-4 Winners Over Millikin

BLOOMINGTON, Ill. - The Illinois Wesleyan baseball team improved to 17-7 overall and 6-3 in the College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin with a 14-4 win over Millikin at Horenberger Field on Wednesday (April 11).

The Titans banged out 13 hits with three each coming from junior third baseman Anthony Lopez, who also had three runs batted in, and junior first baseman Kevin Callahan. Sophomore designated hitter Johnathan Erickson had three RBI and senior leftfielder Mark McDermott had two hits and scored three times.

Senior Joe Sweeney improved to 5-1 as he tossed the first four innings, striking out five and walking four. Titan pitchers surrendered only three hits to the Big Blue (7-17, 3-6 CCIW) but handed out nine walks.

IWU has a doubleheader on Saturday (April 14) at 1 p.m. and a single game Sunday at 12 p.m. at Carthage (8-11, 3-6 CCIW) in Kenosha, Wis.
