GALESBURG, Ill. - The Illinois Wesleyan baseball team took advantage of three errors in the eighth and two more in the ninth to get a 9-3 nonconference win at Knox on Tuesday (April 10).
The Titans, who improved to 16-7, scored three runs on two hits in the first inning. With one out, senior

A.J. Nathan walked to load the bases, junior first baseman
Kevin Callahan struck out for the second out.
Sophomore
Bobby Czarnowski doubled home all three runs to stake the Titans to an early lead.
IWU was held scoreless until the eighth. With the game tied 3-3, Illinois Wesleyan turned three Prairie Fire miscues and two hits into a 6-3 lead. With one out, Erickson reached on an error by the second baseman and Nathan got on as a result of an error on the catcher. Callahan provided a two-run double and advanced to third on a wild pitch. A hit by sophomore Jonathan Frericks scored Callahan.
IWU scored three more times in the ninth when the hosts committed two more errors.
Junior lefthander
Nick Mehn (4-2) was the winning pitcher as he pitched the seventh inning prior to the Titans' eighth inning run explosion and
Anthony Kopp worked the final two innings, allowing three hits and striking out one.
The Prairie Fire, who outhit IWU 9-6, saw their record slip to 6-12.
