BLOOMINGTON, Ill. - The Illinois Wesleyan volleyball team won both its matches on Friday (Oct. 26) in the Barker Classic III, downing Anderson in three sets and the University of Dallas in five hard-fought sets.

The Titans improved to 17-13 overall as they defeated Anderson (10-18) by scores of 25-18, 25-21, 25-20 and won the second match over the Crusaders (17-17) by scores of 25-23, 15-25, 24-26, 25-21, 17-15.

"In the second match against Dallas, I was happy to see how well we fought as a team near the end of that match," said IWU head coach Kim Nelson-Brown. "We finally pulled out a five-set win."

In the win over Anderson, sophomore Maddie Greybar led the Titans with 12 kills and senior Alex Hill had 11. Junior setter Erin Wachtel provided 35 set assists and made 12 defensive digs.
Senior libero Stephanie Polich led the team with 18 digs and Greybar had 11.
Sophomore Cydnee Mann led IWU with four total blocks.

Against the Crusaders, Greybar again led the Titans with 14 kills while Hill had 13. Sophomore Kinzie Schweigert added 12 kills and Mann had 10.
Wachtel had 42 set assists.
Illinois Wesleyan had 105 total digs in the match as Polich had 31, Greybar made 29 and Schweigert had 23. The 31 digs by Polich is tied for fourth most in an IWU five-set match with Jaclyn Verticchio, who had 31 against Augustana on Sept. 20, 2005.
Mann made nine total blocks with Hill and Wachtel each making six.
