Box Score
BLOOMINGTON, Ill. - With most of the game being scoreless until the final 15 minutes, the Illinois Wesleyan women's soccer team was able to upset No. 10 Aurora, 2-1, in a matter of minutes with both Titan goals coming from junior
Tillie Bill at Neis Field Tuesday (Oct. 23) evening.
The Spartans, who were previously undefeated before falling to IWU, now pose a 17-1-1 record, while the Titans improve to 7-8-0.
Aurora scored the first goal of the game at the 74:44 marker as Kaitlyn Crohan assisted Kaity Brough, who shot form the top right of the box to reach the back of the net. The 1-0 Spartan lead lasted for under six minutes when Bill put the Titans on the board.
With 80:11 on the clock,
Emily Hinchman made the pass to Bill, who made the shot from the top of the box to reach the right side of the box and even up the score, 1-1.
It was a case of déjà vu just over a minute later when Bill knocked a shot from 10 yards back to put IWU ahead, 2-1. Hinchman, again, was accredited with the assist.
Zoie Samaan played all 90 minutes in the goalie box for the Titans, making four saves. Aurora's Liz Wong mirrored Samaan's efforts, with four saves in the duration of the game.
The Titans will resume Thursday (Oct. 25) against North Park for Senior Night at Neis Field. Game time is set for 7 p.m.
