WHITEWATER, Wis. - Although the Illinois Wesleyan women's soccer team jumped out to an early lead against non-conference foe University of Wisconsin-Whitewater at Fiskum Field Wednesday (Oct. 10) night, the Warhawks came from behind in the second half to win, 3-2.

The Titans fall to 6-6-0, while UW-Whitewater acquired its 10th win of the season, 10-4-0.

With 18:06 on the clock, Titan foward Tess Bottorff knocked a diving header into the goal, with the assist from Hannah Ketterling, giving IWU a 1-0 lead.

The Titan advantage lasted into halftime, but the Warhawks came out of the gates swinging, scoring three goals in a row. Just over four minutes into the second half, Sarah Sedlar capitalized off a bounced ball after a corner kick, connecting with the back of the net to put the score at an even 1-1.

UW-Whitewater's Jenna Woodson continued the home team's momentum, knocking the ball over IWU goalie Zoie Samaan, taking the lead 2-1. After assisting Woodson's goal, Natalie Lechner knocked the third Warhawk goal in the net, putting them up, 3-1, with 68:15 on the clock.

The Titans responded with just under two minutes remaining as Sydney Fox scored her first goal of the season. But the late response was a little too late, as UW-Whitewater closed the 90-minute duel with a victory.

Samaan acquired eight saves, while Warhawk goal keeper Jordan Myers had four.

The Titans will return to the field against Augustana in Rock Island, Ill., Saturday (Oct. 13) at 5 p.m.
