Box Score BLOOMINGTON, Ill. - The lllinois Wesleyan volleyball team lost in four sets to the No. 23-ranked Maroons of the University of Chicago at the Shirk Center on Tuesday, Sept. 6.
Chicago prevailed by scores of 25-13, 25-20, 18-25, 25-22.
Sophomore
Stephanie Buhrow led IWU wth 14 kills while junior
Alex Hill and freshman
Maddie Greybar each had 10 kills. Greybar added 10 defensive digs and sophomore
Sarah Blum had a team-high 11 digs.
Senior
Stacy Hassinger provided 39 set assists and had eight digs while freshman
Cydnee Mann had a solo block and four block assists for a total of five and Hill had three blocks.
"The coaching staff sees a lot of potential with this team," said IWU head coach
Kim Nelson-Brown. "Unfortunately tonight, we didn't capitalize on things we could control, like coverage, free balls and serving. We gave Chicago over half of their points on unearned errors. When we settle down and fall in sync as a team, positive outcomes will be in our favor."
Illinois Wesleyan hosts the Barker Chevrolet Volleyball Classic I this weekend - on Friday, IWU okays Benedictine University at 3 p.m. and Wisconsin-La Crosse at 7:30 p.m.
On Saturday, the Titans host Webster University at 10 a.m. and Coe College at 2:30 p.m.
