Box Score Monmouth 2, Illinois Wesleyan 1 - Box Score

MONMOUTH, Ill. - The Illinois Wesleyan men's soccer team lost a 2-1 nonconference match at Monmouth College on Sunday, Sept. 4.

Junior Jeff Graham connected on the Titans' only goal in the final two minutes of the contest, at the 88:40 mark, on an assist from freshman David Myers.

After a scoreless first half, Monmouth (1-1) opened the scoring at the 47:55 mark on a header goal by Logan Simpson with assists from Chris Franco and Josh Del Valle.
The Scots added their other goal at 63:40 when Franco scored on assists from Simpson and Eddie Martinez.

Illinois Wesleyan (1-1) outshot the Scots by a 25-13 margin and IWU had nine shots on goal compared to eight for Monmouth. Starting keeper Andrew Reed made three saves in 30:54 and Tim Hegwood made three saves in the other 59:06.

IWU will host Webster at 3:30 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 10 in the first day of the "Clash of the Titans" tournament and will play Central College at 1 p.m. the next day at Neis Field.
Millikin is the fourth team in the tourney and plays Central at 1 p.m. Saturday and Webster at 3:30 Sunday.
