Titans Get Shutout Win Over Beloit, 1-0

BELOIT, Wis. - Junior goalkeeper Tim Hegwood had a shutout and junior midfielder John Horstman scored the only goal of the game as the Illinois Wesleyan men's soccer team blanked Beloit, 1-0, on Tuesday, Sept. 20, in Beloit, Wis.

The Titans snapped a two-game losing streak and improved to 4-3-0 this season while the Buccaneers fell to 1-4-1.

Hortsman's goal came at the 12:48 mark on assists from juniors Tim Griffin and Sam Peniak.

Illinois Wesleyan had 18 total shots compared to seven for Beloit and the Titans had all seven shots on goal in the contest as Hegwood was not forced to make a save.

IWU opens its College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin season with a 7:30 p.m. match on Saturday, Sept. 24 at No. 11-nationally ranked North Park in Chicago.
